Position Overview

REP Giwaydin Security Inc. is seeking reliable and professional Security Guards to join our team for the Waasigan Transmission Line Project. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the camp site, personnel, and property during overnight hours. This includes managing gate access, conducting perimeter patrols, responding to incidents, and ensuring adherence to all Valard project security and safety protocols.


Key Responsibilities

  • Stage a marked security vehicle at the gate with beacon light on; wear required PPE during foot patrols.

  • Manage overnight access control (6:00 PM–6:00 AM), verifying individuals against evacuation and check-in lists. Pause unauthorized entries and direct individuals to their supervisor for confirmation.

  • Direct arrivals to the Catering Office for camp check-in; log all vehicle and personnel entries/exits accurately using Valard forms.

  • Secure the camp site, parking areas, and accommodations overnight. Monitor Valard vehicle use and ensure after-hours access is authorized and documented.

  • Conduct regular patrols of the camp and perimeter to check fencing, lighting, and utility areas; report alarms, damage, or suspicious activity.

  • Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies in accordance with the Waasigan Project Emergency Response Plan (ERP).

  • Support late-night escort services for employees and visitors; prevent unauthorized access to buildings and accommodations.

  • Participate in required training, drills, and audits with Valard Health & Safety.

  • Complete and submit detailed gate logs, incident reports, and shift summaries at the end of each shift.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard License

  • Valid Class G Driver’s License

  • Current      First Aid & CPR Certification

  • Ability      and willingness to complete all required Valard training

  • Strong      observational skills and attention to detail

  • Professional      communication and reporting abilities

  • Ability      to work night shifts in a remote camp environment and in varying weather      conditions

Schedule & Compensation

  • Rotation:     7 days on / 7 days off

  • Shift:    Night Shift 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (12-hour night shift)

  • Room & board included during shifts

  • Competitive wages based on experience and qualifications

  • Location:Lat: 49°27'45"N Long: 91°47'16"W Ignace Temporary Worker Camp

Preference will be given to qualified applicants who are members of local First Nation communities.
