Overview:

Reporting to the Program Manager, the Job Coach plays a key role in supporting the delivering of comprehensive employment services to job seekers in Ignace and surrounding communities. This position supports individuals at various stages of job readiness by providing intake and assessment, career planning, job search support, and ongoing employment retention services.

The successful candidate will help manage an active caseload, guiding clients through individualized employment action plans while ensuring eligibility, documentation, and service standards are met. Working collaboratively as part of the Crossroads team, the Job Coach will contribute to achieving program targets and positive employment outcomes, while fostering a welcoming, respectful, and client-centered environment.

This is a part-time / casual position with potential for additional hours as required. The role will also provide relief for the Program Manager.


Key Responsibilities:


Client Services & Case Management (Primary Focus)

  • Conduct client intake, eligibility, and suitability assessments.

  • Administer assessment tools and develop individualized Employment Action Plans.

  • Provide career exploration, goal setting, and employment counselling.

  • Assist clients with resume and cover letter development, interview preparation, and job search strategies.

  • Support clients with online applications, digital literacy, and access to community resources.

  • Provide pre- and post-placement follow-up to support job retention.

  • Maintain accurate, timely case notes and documentation.

  • Manage caseload flow effectively to meet intake and employment targets.


Employer & Community Support (Secondary Focus)


  • Build relationships with local employers to support client placements.

  • Conduct occasional workplace visits to monitor placement progress.

  • Assist in identifying employment opportunities aligned with client goals.

  • Participate in community outreach activities and job fairs as required.


Accountability & Teamwork


  • Meet established monthly service and outcome targets.

  • Ensure files and reporting meet Service System Manager guidelines.

  • Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities.

  • Provide front desk or administrative support as needed to support office operations.


Qualifications & Skills


  • Post-secondary education in Social Services, Career Development, Business, or related field preferred

  • Experience in employment counselling, case management, or job readiness programming.

  • Strong coaching and counselling skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.

  • Knowledge of local labour market trends and community resources.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable using electronic case management systems.

  • Knowledge of Employment Standards and workplace legislation is an asset.

  • Valid driver’s licence and access to reliable transportation required.

  • French language skills are considered an asset.
